Dogs by Debin is located in Kansas City, Missouri. We foster & care for approximately 30-40 dogs at any given time.
We have an equal balance of dogs that need medical care, behavioral rehabilitation & many dogs that are just ready to go into that new home today. All of our dogs leave our care spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped & heartworm tested (if positive, we treat them).
We were developed based on the fact that there is a gap in the sheltering system. The shelters that are open-intake, although they are doing the best they can, they can only do so much. Those shelters are also very stressful to the dogs & this is where we step in. You can consider our place a half-way home for dogs if you will. We allow the dogs to be dogs again, offering them behavioral modification, land to run on, foster homes, & necessary vet care. With this being said, our adoption rate is sometimes slowed due to the fact the dog(s) may not be ready for adoption right away. We set our dogs up for success & match them with the right family. Our final goal is to have the adoptions last the dog’s lifetime. Our #1 goal though is to have a dog stay in their current home, should it be safe. We offer counseling & resources to do our best to make this happen. When it’s not possible, they may safely surrender the dog to us, provided we have space. Please consider donating to our cause. Our Mission
Dogs by Debin provides services to people that otherwise would have no option but to surrender a dog to a shelter. After counseling and all avenues to keep their dog have been exhausted, Dogs by Debin assists them in rehoming their pet. This results in assisting adoptable pets to find new homes and helping to keep dogs out of crowded shelters. A Dogs by Debin goal is to rehome homeless and abandoned dogs from high-intake shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. Assisting the public is an opportunity to educate and to help work towards a common goal of reducing pet homelessness and to help solve home petlessness!
Dogs by Debin is setting a standard in the animal welfare world. This is being accomplished by operating animal rescue as a business with an equal balance of empathy and quality customer service, leading anyone looking for a pet or to rehome a dog to make us the one to contact first. For those people and dogs that Dogs by Debin are unable to service, resources (literature and contacts) are given to help them out. This in turn has helped Dogs by Debin to be held in high regard in the community and raise the bar in regards to animal care.
